Volunteer

Amor offers a variety of opportunities to get involved through local volunteering. Contact us for more information on volunteering in any of the following areas.

Lead-In Volunteer
Provide assistance by directing mission trip groups from the initial check in point to an Amor campground, and from the campground to the worksite. Time Commitment: Training: Two training dates, 4 hours per day. One consecutive Sunday and Monday combination in March or April and one consecutive Sunday and Monday combination in June or July.

Biography Translator
Provide assistance by translating the biographies of the Mexican families receiving houses from Spanish to English. Time Commitment: January – July: 2 days per week, 2 hours per day. August – October: on call (need is low). November – December: 2 days per month, 2 hours per day.

Data Entry Assistant
Provides assistance through transferring scanned participation forms into Amor’s database, and other general data entry. Time Commitment: March – August: 1-2 times per week, 2-3 hours per day. September – February: 1-2 times per month, 2-3 hours per day.

Staff Encouragement Shepherd
Provide support by encouraging the Amor staff through written notes and prayer support. Time Commitment: March – April: 3-4 hours per week. May – August: 3-4 hours every other week. September – February: 3-4 hours per month

Project Nexus Encouragement Shepherd

Provide support by encouraging the individuals in Amor’s summer Project Nexus program through encouragement notes and prayer support. Time Commitment: May – August: 2-3 hours per week

Project Barnabas Check-In Coordinator

Provide assistance with the spring Project Barnabas volunteer program by collecting and recording fees, dispensing training materials, and picking up pre-ordered lunch during the program’s training day. Time Commitment: March – April: Saturdays, 10:30am – 1:30pm (approximately 7 weeks)

Mission Services’ Assistant

Provide assistance through working with the Mission Services team on assembling initial mission trip paperwork, filing, data entry, and other clerical duties. Time Commitment: January – August: 2-3 hours per week. September – December: 2-3 hours every other week

Camp Set-Up Assistant

Provide assistance by aiding the operations team with setting up and tearing down Amor campgrounds in Mexico, i.e. outhouses, showers, and circus tents. Time Commitment: March – April: 2-3 days per month, mid-week, 8:00am-5:00pm each day. June: 2-3 days, mid week, 8:00am-5:00pm each day.
