Mary Raver Year-Long Intern I first came on a trip with Amor Ministries in 2009, participating in their Amor Family Camp trip with my church. Before even getting on the plane to return to Indiana I had the sense that I would not be able, nor did I want to simply return to “life as normal”. I had been challenged by both the stark contrast in living conditions of the families we had the privilege to serve and an increase in regularity of messages from different sources challenging to live a life of faith and serving people. Over the next year God worked on my heart and mind, clearing my schedule and removing possible excuses for not taking a step in faith. A second trip to Amor Family Camp in 2010 sealed the deal. When I got home I signed up to serve with the Ministry for a year. I have a technical background (mechanical engineering), and like the opportunities to work outside and meet and work with other people. I am very excited to learn, be challenged, and work with an amazing group of people while getting to use the gifts God has given me.

Dave Gladson Year-Long Intern I attended my first Amor building trip with my church in 2003. At the time, I was finishing up a marketing degree at San Diego State and looking for ways to do more than simply work a corporate job. However, it wasn’t a straight path from school to interning with Amor. I first spent three years working with dairy farmers with the Peace Corps in Kenya. Later I helped lead an orphanage ministry to Mexico with Flood church while attending Bethel seminary. This continued to grow my desire to serve God in tangible ways. Now, through a one year internship with Amor I have the opportunity to apply what I have been learning to help bring Christ’s love to people in need.
