Why Project Barnabas?
The primary role of a Project Barnabas team member is to meet the needs of a group during their trip. This may include you picking up a hammer and helping build or it may mean simply encouraging the group participants. You will be a representative of Amor Ministries and act as a liaison between the group and Amor Ministries, but the most important quality of a Project Barnabas team member is their attitude of service.
Your training for Project Barnabas emphasizes this philosophy of service. During your time as a Barnabas, you will be instructed in the basics of the building process. However, your primary role as a Barnabas is to ENCOURAGE and EMPOWER the group (therefore, an extensive knowledge of the Amor house is not necessary). Your basic week outline is: Saturday-Training, Sunday-Meeting groups and leading them into Mexico, Monday through Thursday-Serving the groups, and Friday-Returning home.
