2010 Spring Volunteer Opportunities

This spring, Amor is serving groups in 4 locations; San Carlos Apache Reservation, Baja California, Chihuahua, and Puerto Peñasco. Amor has a smaller team this year and would appreciate the help of volunteers. Volunteer opportunities are listed below.

Volunteer Needs:

• Security Personnel (No Training Necessary)
• Lining Up Caravans
• Checking in Groups
• T-shirt Counters
• Leading in Caravans to Camp (You must have a passport to do this!)

Volunteer Dates:

• Sunday, March 21: 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
• Sunday, March 28: 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
• Sunday, April 4: 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
• Monday, April 5: 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

*Volunteers do NOT need to be available for the entire time block, time slots within the block are definitely available.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities:

Lead-In Volunteer

Provide assistance by directing Amor Mission Trip groups from the initial check in point in the U.S. to an Amor campground in Mexico, and/or from the campground to the group's worksite. Valid U.S. Passport is required.
Time Commitment:

• Training: Two training dates (TBA), 4 hours per day.
• Sundays and Mondays in March through April.
• Sundays and Mondays in June through July.

Biography Translator

Provide assistance by translating basic family biographies from Spanish to English in Amor's database.
Time Commitment:

• January – July: 2 days per week, 2 hours per day
• August – October: On call (need is low)
• November – December: 2 days per month, 2 hours per day.

Data Entry Assistant

Provides assistance through transferring scanned Amor Mission Trip participation forms into Amor’s database, as well as, other general data entry.
Time Commitment:

• March – August: 1-2 times per week, 2-3 hours per day.
• September – February: 1-2 times per month, 2-3 hours per day.
