What camp will be like:
Our camps will be basic, and by basic we mean no electricity, flushing toilets, or Starbuck's. See pictures
What a worksite will be like:
Worksites can vary but most of them are dirt....until you finish....and then it's a house! See pictures
What a family will be like:
It's hard to say what the family you will be building for will be like. The size usually ranges from a family of 8 to a couple. One thing is for sure....you will be impacted by them more than you think. See pictures
Preparing for your Mission Trip
As an Amor Mission Trip participant, there are a few things you can do to prepare yourself for your time with Amor. The first thing to do is get a passport! You can find out more information on current U.S. passport news by clicking here.
Next, you’re probably wondering what to pack. Amor has a recommended packing list to supplement your group packing list. Click here to view and print the PDF. Remember: Tools, knives, etc. should be in checked luggage – not on your person or in your carry-on luggage. See Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Prohibited Items.
Start drinking extra water NOW. Chances are, like most people, you are probably not drinking enough water to begin with, and when you get to your Amor Mission Trip location and start working, your need for even more water will increase exponentially. In order to lessen your chances of dehydration, it is best to prepare your body before you go.
It is important to remember when participating on an Amor Mission Trip, as with any other mission trip, plans change! Remember to bring a heart of service and an attitude of flexibility. Don’t be shy about jumping in to help wherever needed before, during, and after your trip. This will make it easier for your trip leader and create a more meaningful overall Amor Mission Trip experience for you and your group.
