About Family Camp
In 1995, Scott and Gayla Congdon had a shared vision with Dean and Amy Mathis to start a trip focused on families. Family Camp has grown from its early years, with just 53 people cooking for themselves and worshipping under the stars, to 250 campers from all over the United States and Canada living in a “tent city.”
In the years that Family Camp has been in existence, time has shown that families that serve together do grow together. With that in mind, it is suggested that your family attend Family Camp as a family. It is not a problem if you would like to bring a non-family member, but we encourage you to invite their parents to attend as well.
In 2012, Dean and Amy Mathis will once again be serving as the co-deans of Family Camp. Tommy Oaks will also be returning as the speaker, and John Thomas Oaks has agreed to return as the worship leader.
During the trip, you will build a home for a family that will change your life as well as theirs. You will work all day and worship at night. Each evening there is a theme party to close the day, and every morning Dean Mathis and company wakes the camp with beautiful singing. People will snore! Lives will be changed! And baños will be baños.
